Me gusto mucho tu post. Creo que tienes toda la razón ya que los nenes pequeños están envueltos en la violencia. Los padres deben tener control sobre esto pero no lo tienen.

This is a very touching post. I hope that your grandfather gets better. I know alzheimer is a very difficult disease but take advantage of the time you have left with him.

This blog was one of my favorites. I play sports first of all because I really like them. But in the other hand it helps you stay away from bad stuff and have good health.

Blogging experience

For me this project on 15 blogs was a real fun experience. In the first place it was something different that I think most of us enjoyed. As you could read I have a lot of problems including my dad and my stepmother, but not only dad my family has many issues within itself. This project helped me forget about many of my problems because writing is a way to get over stuff. I am actually not being sarcastic but every time I have a problem blogger will be the solution because once you write the problem your stress goes out and you continue your normal life. So on that note thanks teacher. I also hope that our school gives projects like this not only because its fun and actually helps you but also because it gets our grades up. For me this project helped my relationship with my dad because Dieguez my English teacher on a comment told me to talk to him about my issues with my stepmother and all of the trust issues she has with us and it actually worked because since I talked with him she is being more understanding and open minded I hope it was thanks to me. But this will be my last blog for a little while so I hope you liked my blogs and thanks for actually reading them. Anyway thanks for this project and I hope on getting a good grade.

Driving test

Today I missed school because the partial driving test was in the morning. I was studying all last night and went to sleep like at 9 or 10. My dad told me that if I flunked the test he wouldn't take me again to take it. So studying wasn't an option. When I got to the place to get my license I started to talk to some people there and one of them had flunked the test 3 times while the other one had flunked it 6 times, this really got my nerves up. Like an hour after waiting another kid came in taking it for the first time too, this calmed me down and helped me focus to pass my test. When I went in there were a bunch of question I didn't know the answer to so I had to guess some. When I finished my test and pressed finish I saw that it said 14 correct so I thought I had flunked because it says you need 15 right. But when I look to the top corner of the screen it said APPROVED 70% so I finally have my license. When everyone came out all the people I met there passed the test, so we had to wait a full hour while they made the license. When I finally got out my uncle came to pick me up so I could derive to school, it was my first time driving and he told me I did pretty good for that to be my first time, now until august to get the real license.

Obesity

Obesity is a really common problem on teens because people like to eat soda or eat stuff that make them grow in weight. They face challenges with health and also with other teens making fun of them. The health is more important because is has been linked to many diseases including: heart disease and stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes and even cancer. I think it is not very difficult to manage your weight because if you want something you get it and if you get on a diet and also do exercise you will not be overweight in no time. Also since teen like to make out a fool of fat people many have committed suicide around the world. I'm not in favor of making fun of people with obesity problems because that is not always their fault maybe they have a condition that they're body is a fast grower and that the people can't control. But with this blog I want to encourage people to take care of their weight because this can cause millions of problems not only physical but also emotional, so please people for the safety of everyone control what you eat and try to be as healthy as possible because a study in the university of Harvard said that skinny people 78% of the time reach a higher age.

More family issues

My cousin since he was little was a really good student but he was the best prospect in Puerto Rico on basketball. He went to Colegio San Jose and graduated from there, he didnt have the best grades but had A's and B's. On his senior year, colleges had already offered him scholarships to five different universities around the US. The universities included Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse, Marquette and Louisville. All the universities I just mentioned are well known in NCAA division 1 basketball and they all wanted my cousin ti play for them. On his last game as a senior in San Jose he had a devastating injury he broke his Achilles Tendon. This is one of the worst injuries a basketball player can have, this is the muscle on the back of your foot, you can't play basketball with your Achilles broken and there is no operation for this. My cousin tried to rush his return to the basketball court so he could get to were he had planned on basketball, but since he rushed his return the injury got even worse. He then had to be 1 year without playing basketball and maybe only maybe he could play basketball again. After a year he recuperated from this injury and is now playing in Marquette which is  ranked 14 in the US. His doctor said he is lucky to be able to play because not many people can over come this type of injury.

Family problems

This is one of the most serious problem my family has had. My dad takes his work really seriously and he had my uncle helping him out because they are both friends. My uncle is from the other side of my family. At the beginning everything worked to perfection, my uncle is really lazy but does his work well whenever he wants. My uncle was supposed to get to the office at 6 every single morning, my dad had to take us to school because we didn't drive yet, therefore my dad got to the office like at 7:30 or so. My uncle every morning got to the office at 7 because he knew my dad wasn't going to get there until half hour later. When my big brother became a senior they gave him a car so he took us to school every morning. My dad thanks to this went to the office now at 7. The first time he got there my uncle wasn't there and he thought maybe he had something to do, but since this continued and continued my dad decide to put a camera on the office to see at what time exactly my uncle got to the office. Like a week from putting the camera my dad realized my uncle was a liar and got to the office late, my dad asked him at what time does he get to the office and that he wont get mad at the answer. My uncle lied and told my dad he got to the office at 6 so my dad showed him the tape and gave him an opportunity, the very next day my uncle got late again so my dad fired him and they don't talk since.

My dads work

My dad is what they call a workaholic. Everything he does is work, work and work. Mostly I only see him once a day because he takes me to school but rather than that it is rare my dad is at my house. He say that he works that much for us to live the way that we do and I understand that but you also need time with your children so they get to love you and understand you better. As you know I live in Montehiedra which is a really good neighborhood but I prefer living without so many material stuff and having a functional and close family. My dad as today has 4 jobs, he is a teacher in UPR de Rio Piedras on accounting, he has his own office to do accounting, he also has his own company that gives different classes for people to be able to pass he accounting final exam and he rents beach houses in Luquillo. All of this work is not easy to handle so therefore it takes him a lot of time. What I am trying to say here is not for my dad or other kids dad to stop working but what I want to say is that you should divide your life into different aspects because my grandfather showed me that family comes first because if you loose a job you can get another one but if you loose a family member there's no one like him.

My painful summer

Last summer I went to Turkey to represent the National Puerto Rico basketball team of my age. This trip was based on a 15 day tournament and looser goes home. We were one of the favourites going in, this put even more pressure on us. We won the first five games and on the sixth game, my trip came to an end. On the 4th quarter I went to get a rebound and landed on one of my teammate’s foot. I couldn’t finish the game so after we lost I went to the doctor and my ankle was literally broken. I had to be on a cast for the next two months and on rehabilitation for three months. This accident happened on May and had to be until July on recuperation. This injury is very difficult to overcome because a broken ankle doesn’t recuperate completely and anytime you jump or do anything on that ankle it would hurt. I have to play with an ankle brace for the rest of my basketball career, as you know basketball is my life and this obstacle may be the reason why I don’t get a scholarship. I want to put this injury on the side because it doesn’t matter how much it hurts I will still love basketball. Next year on my senior year I would go to England to play for the Puerto Rico basketball team and hopefully this time I can finish the tournament and win.

We got robbed

This blog is on my experience when me and my family got robbed. It was on a Sunday evening, we took our grandfather out to eat far from my house. My big brother stayed on the house by himself, everything went great until when we got home. I was the first one to go in and eve single thing from my room was on the floor so therefore I go to my brothers room to ask him why he did that? When I get to his room my brother was tied up to his shirt with his mouth covered and crying. My dad called the police, when we were able to speak to my brother because at first he was really anxious he told us that some guys came to his room tied him up and told him that if he said anything they would come back and kill him. My house is full of cameras so the cameras caught the guys on the crime. When my dad realized the cameras had all the info we needed he went to the FBI. They were in charge on finding the guys. Can you believe that a week later the FBI had already found the guys and they had a case for us on the court? When it is something about robbing they out up 5 guys similar one to the other and make you name the guy before putting him in jail to make sure, the same police officers tell you which one he is to make sure a bad person is lifted of the streets and put into jail. He had a $400,000 sentence or 30 years in prison, since he didn't have money he now has 4 years in prison and 26 to go..

Drugs and alcohol

Drugs and alcohol are very common problem for teen agers. Most teens do this just for the fun of it but other do it for peer preasure. My dad personally thought me how to say no and if I know something is wrong why would I do it? Doing this stuff at least for me is really stupid because you are not winning anything at all and your doing damage to your body. Many people who do this I guess it is because their parents did not show them how to say no or because they have so many problems and think this is the best way to solve them, what they dont know is that that fucks up your body and it will never leave it. After a few times of doing drugs you get used to it and it becomes a habit. Thats the worst that can happen because once you have a bad habit in your life it is almost impossible to stop. When I say drugs I mostly mean marijuana and smoking stuff, but this is the first step. Once you do marijuana and get the habit of it the you start to do the other stuff, that obviously are even worst. This includes cocaine, extasis... ect my dad showed me that once you start doing this you end up either dead or in prison. So this blog is mostly to let people know the damage you are doing to your body and to encourage parents to teach their kids how to say no to bad stuff, it will only hunt your kids when they are big.

Blogging on the weekend

Personally I have really liked blogging, throughout the day I make the decision on what to write. On the weekend it is a whole different story, the weekend for a high school student at least for me and my friends is sleeping all day partying all night and therefore people wake up late. I wake up like at 1 or 2 on the afternoon. My basketball games are far from where my house is therefore once I wake up we have to leave for my game. When I don't have a basketball game my dad decides to take my grandfather to eat, he is 87 years old and lost his wife (my grandmother) 6 months ago. My dad says that old people once they loose there loved one don't last much longer. Taking him to eat doesn't bother me because I love him to death. My day on the weekend is really short and most time cant write a blog. Today I had the time to write because my basketball game was cancelled and my dad invited people home to watch the Super Bowl. Next weekend I doubt my blog will be written because I will stay in Hotel San Juan for a basketball tournament that lasts throughout the whole weekend. For me blogging in the weekend isn't my interest but I will find a way to do it because this is my worst class and must take advantage of opportunities like this one.

Time is too short :(

For me the most difficult task right now is time management. I am a really a lazy person and hate to study but love to do sports. I may be the best basketball player in the world but without good grades I am sure all the skills go down the drain. My week is really hard and really short based on all the practices and games played. School teams practice twice a week and also play twice a week, most of the time the practice or games go from 3:30 on to 5 or 6. Outside of school my team practices three times a week from 7 to 9:30, meaning that I get home like at 10 really tired and without wanting to study at all. This is a really difficult situation because my body is  tired, wanting to sleep and still haven't even opened a book to do my homework. This problem is really affecting my school grades therefore I must do something about it and quick. My dad recommended me to play either at school or outside of school but you never know when a scout will watch your game so the more you play the more you have a chance to get a scholarship. My grades are also really important so therefore I made the decision to only practice once a week in school, this decision is giving me the chance to be able to study and get my grades up.

Fight with my stepmother

Last month me and my step mother had a fight about why she didn’t want me to go to Las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastian. She started to tell me I wasn’t mature enough to say no to drugs and to alcohol, so I answered that if I wasn’t mature enough to make my own decisions I would already be into that kind of stuff. She obviously doesn’t trust her children or me or my brothers and gets bad stuff into my dad’s head. My dad then listens to all the bullshit she says and tells me that I would not go to the event. After I had gone for the past 2 years he expected me not to go this year, so the week before Las Calles I left my house and stayed with my aunt and she took me to Las Calles without my step mother or dad knowing. My stepmother has a huge problem and that is trust issues, her oldest son is 14 years old and she doesn’t let him go to Plaza Las Americas if she is not there, he can’t go to the movies with his friends if she’s not there. Therefore my stepbrother is kind of retarded, he has never gone out with his friends because he prefers not to go out if she will be stalking him. I hate my step mother so much you don’t have any idea we actually fight everyday possible. Therefore every time I see her I just turn my back away and don’t even say hello because we will fight.

Stepmothers are evil

Having a step mother is the worst thing that can happen to a kid. I lost my mother when I was 9 years old and there came the problem. At the beginning my stepmother called Amy was the best she bought me stuff took me to places to play and was like a mother to me. But when she started to gain mine and my brothers confidence she started to try and tell us what to do or even believe she had the right of grounding us. Teacher you know how Gio is and he wont let a girl we just knew tell him what to do, so he did what ever he wanted like always. My dad at the beginning was on our side but I guess he switched sides and did everything she said had to be done. For me she is a gold digger this because my dad is 12 years older than she is he even gave her accounting classes in college. Dating your teacher is wrong in so many levels, but my dad was blinded by her beauty and now he is like his little dog. As time went on my dad decided to live together with her and her 3 children, this meant we had to live 8 in a same house. At the beginning it was all great nobody messed with our ways of living and my dad didn't mess with their way of living. But then she started to tell us what we could do, what we could eat, even at what time we had to go to sleep in which obviously me and my brothers didn't care what she said. This is my year number 7 with her as a step mother and still hate her, I personally think she will never gain my trust or love. She has done so many things to bother us or get us in trouble that we just hate her. My next blog will be on some of my fights with her.

Having a strict dad sucks

Having a strict dad has its good things and bad things. This means you can’t do whatever you would want to do like most teenagers think they have the right. My dad is a really strict one and is always on top of me checking on everything I do; mostly he is like a stalker. Last week he went on a stalking mission and took my phone away to read my text messages. He didn’t know the phone had a password so when I got home he told me to put my password because he was going to read my text messages, obviously I didn’t give him my code because its a private phone and it’s for me not for everyone. He then decided that if he couldn’t read my messages it was because something bad was on my phone. Like a week from the problem he then told me to explain to him why I didn’t give him the phone, so I had to explain. That morning my stepmother went into my brother’s room and started looking for stuff she doesn’t mind. So I texted my brother saying what had happened and he called my dad to tell him she was wrong. My dad then obviously thought it was me in which it was but since I didn’t give him the phone he never knew the truth. After I explained what had happened he decided to give me the phone back because if we don’t go into his room to look for her stuff she doesn’t have to come to mine or my brothers to look for our stuff. I’ll tell you all about my stepmother on my next blog.

In this project the teacher is asking us to talk about our problems meaning teen ager problems. This project will count for our English class but also for our Computer class. We must explain our daily problems on 15 posts one per day, only five of these posts will count for our computer class but the whole 15 for English class. The teacher will have our links and should check daily to see if we actually posted on the blog. Each post we do is for 5 points and every time we do not do one it will be minus one point. We have until midnight to post a blog but make sure it is that day because we cannot afford to lose any points. This project will have a total punctuation of 50 points for our Computer class and 75 for our English class. This blog helps us on realizing our daily problems and also how to make a blog and express ourselves better. Also this blog can help on the relationship with our parents or anyone who is making us have a problem. One way to forget stuff or let it out of your chest is by writing about the problem, so this project is giving us the great opportunity to get our grade up but also help us on our personal lives. I am very excited about this project and cannot wait to start it.
